Krvavec recreational centre is the closest ski resort to an international airport, Ljubljana – Brnik only 8 km in distance from the airport, 25 km from Ljubljana and 40 km from Bled. The ski resort has 26 km of well-maintained ski runs 1,450 m – 1,971 m above sea level, providing excellent conditions for skiing on natural and artificial snow. Due to the centre's favourable location, the skiing season usually starts as early as the end of November and may last over 150 days until early May. The resort guarantees 100 skiing days each season.
The newest facility at Krvavec is its six-person chairlift, which takes skiers from Gospinica to the peak of Krvavec in under five minutes and enables skiing on most runs. The ski runs are varied and ideal for both recreational and professional skiers.
Accommodation is available right on the slopes in the lodge, in apartments or in cabins. The majority of skiers drive here daily from Ljubljana or Kranj. Krvavec is renowned in Slovenia as being the sunniest area to ski.
Apres Ski & Nightlife
Krvavec has a good choice of mountain restaurants, with bands performing on a regular basis. Activities and facilities off the slopes include: sledding, Jacuzzi, fitness centre and solarium. There is a nightclub for apres-ski, five restaurants and four snack bars. For alternative skiing, you can travel west to the Julian Alps, to Bohinj ski resort, which comprises the villages of Kobla and Vogel. For a day trip away from the slopes, the nearby 700-year-old city of Kranj has a beautiful old town that draws tourists to its numerous archaeological sites and other attractions. Also worth seeing, Ljubljana is a charming city.
