Sestriere is nestles between the Susa and Chisone valleys just 17 km from the French border. It makes up part of the milky way (Via Lattea ) ski area in Italy. Sestriere Township rises up to 2035 metres altitude and links the Chisone and Susa valleys in Piedmont, only a few kilometres from France. It spreads on a surface of 2580 hectares with 900.
A Sestriere ski holiday enables visitors to access over 400 km of ski runs all serviced by 92 lifts which have the capacity to uplift 70,900 people per hour. There are 10 kms of trails available for cross country lovers and snowboarders are made welcome at Sestriere for use of their snowpark .
The Sestriere Snowpark is situated on a slope infront of the village giving you the opportunity to pull off those great tricks whilst being watched by those that are taking time out in one of the many bars that face the mountain. It is about 250 metres long and uses two parallel skilifts that take you to the top in less than 5 minutes.
The Snowpark caters for everyone from beginners to experts with a slope style feel to the park. There are various sizes of jumps and jibs.Particular attention is paid to beginners, who have their own dedicated area where they can enjoy themselves safely while learning the basics of freestyle.There is also an area that’s bean sculptured in to a small boarder cross slope.
Apres Ski & Night-life
There are many bars and restaurants serving traditional Italian food, however for a fun evening Dreamers Bar often has live music and karaoke which is a must. The Brahms Pub has a great range of Irish beers and in addition there are several piano bars and the Tabatha discotheque.
The shopping is great although it can be expensive. Shops include up market boutiques and a variety of speciality shops selling arts, crafts and local produce.
