The downhill ski area in Montgenevre covers two sides of the mountain. On the south side is the Chalvet/Serre-Thibaud sector and on the north, the Chalmettes/Gondrans/Aigle area. Both sides are linked. The ski area in Montgenevre offers beautiful scenery, rolling landscapes, forests and free ride areas. A variety of slopes for all levels, between 2450 and 1860m. Montgenevre has 35 lifts total, 20 drag, 12 chair and 2 gondolas. There are nearly 60 pistes with 25 km of cross-country trails. Skiing in Montgenevre is a long season, usually commencing in early November and finishing in late April.

The resort sits on the Italian border, the Montgenevre day pass gives access to two ski lifts in Claviere, Italy (Cime saurel & Col Boeuf).

Vialattea – Grand Domaine, For those skiers that have already covered the Montgenevre- Monts de La Lune ski area, La Vialetta (or Milky Way) awaits you! Montgenevre is the only French ski resort linked with the Turin Olympic domain offering over 400km of ski runs.

Accommodation

Montgenevre has the usual accommodation found in larger French ski resorts. Accommodation near the slopes is not always a guarantee, but access is easy enough.

Apres Ski & Night-life

There is a good selection of restaurants and bars, Le Capitaine serve great Pizzas while Ca del Sol is the best place to sample the local dishes. Le Graal Café is a popular venue for lunch, serving simple but hearty fare and in the evening it transforms itself from restaurant to bar drawing a lively crowd. You can listen to live bands at the Graal as well as at Rois Mages. Le Blue Night is the late night venue for those looking to dance the night away.

Shopping in Montgenevre offers around twenty shops, half of which are sports and fashion stores including the Sun Valley shop. There are also three bakeries, a butcher and newsagents. There is a weekly market and the ancient town of Briançon is 10km away for a greater range of stores.
