Les Diablerets – Year Long Ski Vacations & Long Winter Runs
Les Diablerets is not a secret ski resort per se, but crowds tend to flock elsewhere leaving this charming and traditional ski resort in Vaud, Switzerland less crowded and very rewarding. Les Diablerets is housed under the Glacier-Alpes Vaudoises Ski Area, as there is a glacier here that offers yearlong ski slopes. Generally, the glacier opens up in the summer while the rest of the ski slopes and snowboard parks are open in the winter. In all, Les Diablerets has 60 km of downhill and 30 km of cross-country runs. Those families with beginner level children (and intermediate level parents) looking for a ski holiday amidst the hills of Switzerland can’t go wrong in Les Diablerets. The highest any beginner or intermediate will get in Les Diablerets is 2970 meters, attained by 22 ski lifts and a maximum elevation drop of 1820 meters. The lowest piste is level with the resort’s height at 1150 meters. Other nearby resorts included in one ski pass is Leysin, Villars-Gryon, Anzere, Chateau d’Oex and Gstaad.
