Ski holidays in Heiligenblut Großglockner

Heiligenblut – Grossglockner – Where Ski Holidays Are Quaint. Heiligenblut – Grossglockner (a.k.a. Großglockner) is one of those picturesque villages that just seem like a drop out of reality. Time seems to stand still for the beauty of the place. Skiers come to challenge themselves on some demanding ski runs; others come to relax. Though the word “village” brings about mental images of isolation, Heiligenblut – Grossglockner has a lot to do: There is an indoor tennis court and swimming pool, both a necessary part of any ski vacation. Moreover, skiing is higher and faster with the installation of a new gondola in 2008. The rest of the 14 ski lifts serve another 20 individual slopes. Snow is always reliable in Heiligenblut with a minimum and maximum altitude of 1301 and 2902 meters respectfully. The resort lies at 1,300 meters, with 2 black runs, 9 red runs and 9 blue runs above that. When the snow gets icy and Mother Nature backpedals on her snow production, 50 snow cannons can cover 40 km of slopes in mere minutes. Skiing or snowboard foray in Austria is never wasted on other skiers’ leftovers. Heiligenblut – Grossglockner is a children's bliss with the “Bobo Kid’s Club” and “Snowland Club”—a place to leave the children while adult skiers hit the pistes.
